Listen to Lauzon

Kathryn Hunt's Blog posts a link to Dave Lauzon's December 18th's performance at the Dusty Owl reading series. It was the best intimate musical performance I've seen in 2005. But that's not really saying much as I don't get out to bars for the live music. Thanks for the link Kathryn!

The actual link to the twelve or so tracks is on jambands.ca. [Look on the left side of the page a couple of page down clicks for the header 'Live Music": Dave Lauzon Dec.18, 2005 Ottawa, ON.] I say twelve or so because the first track is basically just an introduction. Give it a listen; his guitar melodies are truly mesmerizing. Apparently all the songs were performed for the first time in public, save for track 3 (Betty's Funeral). Betty was a chicken by the way...

A chacun son gout. I've never been so bored at a Dusty Owl. To me that was the equivalent of electric guitar masturbation, talented, but still masturbation.

Yeah, I never thought about it that way, but you definitely have a point there about the amusement part. However, it was the biggest crowd I've ever witnessed at the ol' Dusty Owl.

Lots of friends, me thinks. Poets are not as popular with the masses.

with the amount of people that got off on the Lauzon performance, I guess it was more of a 'group sex' thing and Amanda didn't quite get off ;)

That's no reason to trash it though.

Hope the links to the music stay up on the site for a while. It's a nice souvenir of the show. Thanks jambands.ca!

They'll be up until through to March probably.

There is a show coming up on March 31st at Maverick's with The Sisters Euclid and Dave Lauzon will be debuting even more new material.

This one will be probably one of the top music events of the year.

many people i talked to didn't enjoy it either, but as I said, to each his own. I'm always so pleased the Dusty Owl is willing to try different things, so it's all good.
