Obama - What Does This Day Mean To You?
19 February 2009, Ottawa.
Inspired by Faces of Joy, a photo essay by Magnum photographer Bruce Gilden, I set out to Parliament Hill to capture the spirit of Obama's first official foreign visit as President of the United States of America. I began by asking the person if I could take their photo, then I asked only one question: What does this day mean to you? The answers varied from work, to hope, change, victory, and everything in between. My day began at 5:00am to catch the early birds, and ended with the last photo in this series at 12:30pm.

This is excellent on every level. It tells the story of the day with great candid images and allows us to hear the voices and feelings of those photographed. There is a real sense of being in the moment.
I'd be interested to know whether you used a separate sound recorder or an audio function of the camera.
Thanks for your comment. Yes, I gathered audio on the same camera.
I agree, this is excellent, John!
Fabulous, John.
