I, for one, couldn't be more pleased. I have been a great admirer of Banville for years, having discovered him quite bt accident, remaindered as he was. His earliest works remind me of John Hawkes' early, experimental fiction, The Cannibal, as one fine example of literary tomfoolery done with class and genius.
