Wrapping up 2011
Here are two major recent photo sales to wrap up 2011 that I am very proud of. I know I have not been placing a ton of work on this blog of late. It seems that my facebook page http://www.facebook.com/johnwmacdonaldphotography
gets a lot more attention from me that this blog. Such is life.
This is the on-line link where Margaret Atwood's photo was used for Amnesty International Canada's Write for Rights campaign last month. www.amnesty.ca/writeathon/?p=3835
Margaret Atwood appeared at Chapters (Pinecrest location) to sign copies of her latest book Moral Disorder. It is a collection of short stories telling the "pains of a troubled Canadian family over a 60 year span". My photo of the late Gil Courtemanche appears on his posthumously published book of essays and newspaper artlcles. Le Camp Des Justes is published by Les Editions du Boreal. The candid portrait was taken during an event hosted by the Ottawa International Writers Festival in 2007. This is my second cover with Boreal. www.editionsboreal.qc.ca/catalogue/livres/camp-d...
I would also note that this publisher, although not the most lucrative of deals I've made, is probably the nicest publisher I've ever worked with in every respect. I have the utmost respect for them. Merci Christine! On that note, I would like to thank all my friends and family and my clients for their support in 2011 and wish you all the best of the holiday season, Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous new year in 2012. Cheers!
